“Another interesting weekend in boxing beckons and there’s going to be a lot of eyes on fight in particular as KSI and Logan Paul have their first professional fights at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. These are two guys who have enormous popularity away from boxing, but I’m not in a position to make an honest call on the fight as it’s impossible to do so. I wish them both the best of luck and hoping they enjoy the experience once the final bell has sounded.

“What stands out to me in California is Billy Joe Saunders making a defence of his world 12st title against Marcelo Esteban Coceres. Billy is a fighter that I admire greatly, and he’ll be wanting to make a big impression on the American audience. You get the feeling a big fight is just around the corner for Billy and if he can look good on Saturday night then 2020 could be prosperous for him.

“Having looked at Coceres, this is a fight that Saunders should look good in and I think his superior boxing skills will get him off to a great start. Coceres hasn’t fought outside his native Argentina and having his first fight outside of familiar surroundings against someone like Saunders is not ideal. Billy will break him down with his accuracy and get the stoppage sometime in the second half.

“Elsewhere in LA, Devin Haney makes the first defence of his recently acquired world title when he takes on Alfredo Santiago. There’s a huge buzz about Haney at the moment and my old promoter, Eddie Hearn, is absolutely massive on him. There’s a ton of fights out there for him that can take him up so many levels and if he wants those fights then he needs to look good here. He’s won his last two fights by stoppage and I believe he’ll get the job done early again on Saturday.”
