West Ham United V Crystal Palace: Premier League Preview

West Ham United v Crystal Palace: Premier League Preview

West Ham United could move into the top four with a win over Crystal Palace when the sides meet at the London Stadium on Wednesday night.

Both West Ham and Crystal Palace will be very happy with the starts they have made to this Premier League season.

A Crystal Palace win will see the Eagles on 20 points after 13 top flight games for the first time in 29 years, whilst a win for West Ham will confirm their best top-flight start since 1983-84.

Palace have the edge when it comes to this fixture recently. Jordan Ayew scored the winning goal home and away as the south Londoners confirmed a Premier League double over West Ham last season.

However, the Hammers look a different side this term. David Moyes’s side have scored in each of their last eleven Premier League games – a club record in the competition.

Moyes also has a good record against Palace, with just one defeat in ten Premier League games against the Eagles.

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has never managed to win an away game at a team managed by Moyes either.

West Ham have scored in each of their last 12 Premier League games against Crystal Palace, and have never lost consecutive home games under their current boss. Whilst Palace are hoping to win consecutive away London derbies for the first time since 1997.

Michail Antonio is still injured for West Ham, who will also be missing Arthur Masuaku. Mamadou Sakho could return for Crystal Palace.
