Manchester City v Aston Villa: Premier League preview
Manchester City will look to move to the top of the Premier League table tonight, with Aston Villa visiting the Etihad Stadium.
With eight consecutive wins in all competitions, and a run of 15 games without defeat, Manchester City are the quickly emerging as favourites to win the Premier League this season.
Aston Villa are having a fantastic season, however, and will head into tonight’s game well-rested. Due to a COVID-19 outbreak at the club, Villa have not played a Premier League fixture since January 1.
Dean Smith’s side will have to get up to speed quickly tonight though. Aston Villa have lost 14 of their last 15 visits to Manchester City.
Sergio Aguero and Aymeric Laporte will continue to be absent for Pep Guardiola’s side, but Kevin de Bruyne is expected to return.
Aston Villa’s team selection is expected to be heavily influenced by their recent issues with Coronavirus, but Ross Barkley could make his first appearance in two months, having recovered from a hamstring problem.
