Fulham V Liverpool: Premier League Preview

Fulham v Liverpool: Premier League Preview

Liverpool will be looking to win their first Premier League away match in four attempts when they head to Craven Cottage this Sunday.

It has been a very difficult return to the top flight for Fulham, who sit 17th in the table upon their return to the Premier League. The task in hand gets no easier when champions Liverpool arrive in West London on Sunday.

It’s an age-old cliché that to survive in the Premier League, you must win your home games. Unfortunately, the Whites have lost four of their opening five games at Craven Cottage this season.

However, Scott Parker’s side will be encouraged by Liverpool’s recent away form, which has been relatively poor by the champions’ lofty standards.

If Fulham are to get anything from this weekend’s game, then their defending will have to improve drastically. Only West Bromwich Albion have conceded more home goals in the Premier League this season.

Liverpool have won their last 18 games against newly-promoted teams, and are the only Premier League team to have scored in every game that they have played this season.

With Liverpool possibly welcoming Alisson and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain back to their starting eleven, it’s very hard to look past an away win.

Diogo Jota and Kostas Tsimikas both picked up knocks in the UEFA Champions League this week, and could miss out.

Fulham have no fresh injury concerns, and could name an unchanged line-up for the third week in a row.
