Sheffield United head to St. Mary’s in search for their first Premier League win of the season, this Sunday.
Chris Wilder’s Blades are still on the hunt for their first away point of the season, having lost all of their five games on the road in the Premier League this season.
In contrast, Southampton have enjoyed a wonderful start to the season, going into the weekend just four points behind league leaders Tottenham Hotspur in fifth place.
Saints beat Sheffield United home and away last season, which will add to Wilder’s concern heading into this game.
Sheffield United could equal an undesirable record as one of two teams who have failed to secure a win in their opening 12 Premier League matches, should they not take three points back to Bramall Lane. (QPR went their opening 12 games without a win in 2012-13)
Danny Ings, who has eight goal contributions in eight Premier League games this season (six goals, two assists) was the hero upon his return from injury, when he converted a contentious penalty against Brighton last time out.
Ings return to action leaves William Smallbone as Southampton’s only injury concern. Jack O’Connell misses out for the Blades.
